Directions

  1. 1Get rid of those store-bought English muffins.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  3. 3In a separate pot, heat the milk and melt the butter.
  4. 4Add the milk and butter mixture to the dry ingredients.
  5. 5Mix with the dough hook for about 5 minutes.
  6. 6Let the dough rest for about 20 minutes until doubled in size.
  7. 7Shape the dough to about 1.5-2cm thickness.
  8. 8Cut the dough into discs using a round cookie cutter.
  9. 9Place the discs on a baking tray and let them rest for another 20 minutes until they double in size.
  10. 10Heat a flat pan on low to medium heat with some semolina.
  11. 11Cook the English muffins in the pan until golden brown on both sides.
  12. 12If they are still a little raw inside, finish cooking them in a hot oven for 5-10 minutes.
