Ham and Gouda Croissant Casserole

Directions

  1. 1Start by taking a pack of mini croissants.
  2. 2Chop each croissant into about three pieces.
  3. 3Toss the chopped croissants into the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. 4Take half a pound of sliced Black Forest ham, fold each slice up, and tuck them in between the croissants.
  5. 5Shred 8 ounces of Gouda cheese.
  6. 6Sprinkle the shredded Gouda cheese all over the top, tucking it in with the ham and croissants.
  7. 7In a bowl, crack in 6 eggs.
  8. 8Add one cup of heavy cream and one cup of half and half to the eggs.
  9. 9Add a tablespoon of Dijon mustard.
  10. 10Season with onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, nutmeg, a little bit of salt, and pepper.
  11. 11Whisk the egg mixture thoroughly.
  12. 12Pour the egg mixture all over the top of your casserole.
  13. 13Finish it off with some chopped fresh chives.
  14. 14Bake in a 350-degree Fahrenheit oven for about 40-45 minutes until it's nice, golden brown, and bubbly.

Tips

  • Let the mini croissants sit on the counter for about a week to get a little stale.
