Hot Honey Fried Chicken

Directions

  1. 1Grab your chicken and get ready to clean it.
  2. 2Add salt, vinegar, and water to the chicken in a bowl.
  3. 3Whisk together mayo, black pepper, ranch seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and buttermilk to make the Wingstop Ranch.
  4. 4Combine 2 cups of flour with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, and coriander for the seasoned flour mix.
  5. 5Mix the seasoned flour well.
  6. 6For the wet batter, combine 1 cup of flour, 2 eggs (no shells), and 2 cups of sparkling water; whisk until it has a crepe-like consistency.
  7. 7Dry off the cleaned chicken pieces with a paper towel.
  8. 8First, coat the chicken in plain flour.
  9. 9Next, toss the floured chicken in the wet batter for the second coat, ensuring it's extra crispy.
  10. 10Then, coat the chicken in the seasoned flour.
  11. 11Carefully place the coated chicken into peanut oil preheated to 350°F.
  12. 12Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  13. 13While the chicken rests, combine hot sauce, honey, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, butter, and lemon juice in a pot to make the hot honey sauce.
  14. 14Fry the chicken again at 375°F for at least 3-5 minutes to ensure ultimate crispiness.
  15. 15Toss the fried chicken in the hot honey sauce to coat.
