Directions
1
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
2
Add sugar, oil, salt, and flour to form a soft dough.
3
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. This can be done with a mixer or by hand.
4
Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
5
Cut the dough into breadsticks, trying to keep the sizes about the same.
6
Give the breadsticks a little twist.
7
Twist the breadsticks onto a cookie sheet, squishing them a little to make them all fit.
8
Brush every single spot of the breadsticks with melted butter (a whole cube).
9
Sprinkle Johnny's garlic spread or any seasoning like garlic salt over the breadsticks.
10
Put the breadsticks in a 350-degree Fahrenheit oven for about 20 to 25 minutes until they are golden brown and soft.
Ingredients
2 Tbsp active dry yeast
2.5 cups warm water
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp oil
1 Tbsp salt
6 cups all-purpose flour
0.5 cup melted butter
Johnny's garlic spread or garlic salt
Equipment
mixer
cookie sheet
oven
Tips
The twist is not necessary, it just makes them feel fancy.
Squish the breadsticks onto the cookie sheet to make them all fit.
Cover every spot of the breadsticks with butter.
You can let the dough rise if you have time, but it's not strictly necessary for delicious results.
If you don't have a mixer, knead the dough by hand for 10 minutes.
