Directions

  1. 1Toss a 3-pound chuck roast into your crock pot.
  2. 2Brown the chuck roast if desired.
  3. 3Cut the chuck roast in half and spread it out.
  4. 4Grab a mixing bowl and add 1.5 cups of ketchup, 0.25 cup of barbecue sauce, 0.25 cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, 0.25 teaspoon of garlic powder, 0.25 teaspoon of black pepper, and 0.25 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
  5. 5Whisk all the ingredients in the bowl until beautifully combined.
  6. 6Pour the combined sauce all over your roast.
  7. 7Put the lid on your crock pot and set it to low heat for 8 to 10 hours.
  8. 8Once the cooking time is up, take the lid off.
  9. 9Transfer the meat into the same mixing bowl from earlier.
  10. 10Shred the meat with two forks.
  11. 11Pour the shredded meat back into the juices it has been cooking in all day.
  12. 12Coat the meat nicely with the juices.
  13. 13Put the lid back on for 10 or 15 minutes.
  14. 14Take the lid off and get a toasted bun with mustard and pickles.
  15. 15Pile some of the meat high on the bun.
  16. 16Add jalape os on top if you have them.
  17. 17Top up the bun and enjoy your sandwich.
