Add half a gallon of whole milk to a large pot.

Bring the milk to 115°F over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Add 1/3 cup (about 7 tablespoons) of white vinegar to the milk.

Mix for about a minute until curds form.

Cover the pot and let sit for 15 minutes.

Strain the curds from the whey using cheesecloth or a strainer.

Squeeze out as much whey as possible from the curds.

Microwave the curds for 30 seconds.

Remove any extra whey from the curds.

Carefully fold and stretch the curds to form mozzarella balls.

Place mozzarella balls in a bowl with cold water and a pinch of salt.

Allow the mozzarella to cool in the water for 10-15 minutes.

Slice and serve.
