Directions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine the oats with the praline and mix well.
  2. 2Press the oat mixture into the bottom of a round baking mold to form the base.
  3. 3In a saucepan, heat the milk with vanilla beans.
  4. 4In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and flour.
  5. 5Pour the warm milk into the egg mixture while whisking constantly.
  6. 6Pour the combined mixture back into the saucepan.
  7. 7Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly with a whisk, until it thickens into a pastry cream.
  8. 8Remove from heat and stir in butter until fully incorporated.
  9. 9Add a swirl of praline to the pastry cream and mix lightly.
  10. 10Pour a layer of the pastry cream over a cake already in a round baking mold.
  11. 11Place the oat and praline base on top of the pastry cream layer.
  12. 12Pour the remaining pastry cream over the oat base and spread evenly with a spatula.
  13. 13Bake until golden brown.
  14. 14Once baked and cooled, brush a shiny glaze over the top of the cake.
  15. 15Slice the cake into individual portions.
