Directions
- 1Add 32 ounces of chicken broth to a pot.
- 2Add 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning.
- 3Add 1 tablespoon of zippy zap.
- 4Stir and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
- 5Drop in hot dog weiners and take off the fire.
- 6Let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
- 7In a bowl, add 1 cup of cornmeal, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- 8Whisk all ingredients together.
- 9Add 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
- 10Add 1 1/4 cups of buttermilk and whisk together well.
- 11Pour batter into a glass and push a hot dog into the batter.
- 12Heat oil to 350 degrees.
- 13Remove hot dog from batter and lay in hot oil.
- 14Cook for 3-4 minutes, making sure they get cooked evenly.
- 15Serve with mustard and zippy zap for dipping.
