Directions

  1. 1Add 32 ounces of chicken broth to a pot.
  2. 2Add 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning.
  3. 3Add 1 tablespoon of zippy zap.
  4. 4Stir and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. 5Drop in hot dog weiners and take off the fire.
  6. 6Let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
  7. 7In a bowl, add 1 cup of cornmeal, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  8. 8Whisk all ingredients together.
  9. 9Add 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
  10. 10Add 1 1/4 cups of buttermilk and whisk together well.
  11. 11Pour batter into a glass and push a hot dog into the batter.
  12. 12Heat oil to 350 degrees.
  13. 13Remove hot dog from batter and lay in hot oil.
  14. 14Cook for 3-4 minutes, making sure they get cooked evenly.
  15. 15Serve with mustard and zippy zap for dipping.
