Serves 1

Directions

  1. 1Combine two cups of plain flour, one cup of wholemeal flour, one knob of butter, and two cups of boiling hot water in a bowl.
  2. 2Add boiling water slowly and gradually, mixing until you achieve the right dough consistency.
  3. 3Once mixed, leave the dough for a couple of minutes to cool down until it's cool enough to handle.
  4. 4Roll the rotis, ensuring there are no uneven thick and thin edges, even if the shape is not perfectly round.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup wholemeal flour
  • 1 knob butter
  • 2 cups boiling hot water

Tips

  • Add boiling water slowly and gradually until you get the right consistency of dough, as every flour is different.
  • Allow the mixed dough a couple of minutes to cool down before handling.
  • The combination of boiling water and a little knob of butter makes the dough deliciously soft.
  • When rolling rotis, focus on making sure there are no uneven thick and thin edges, rather than perfect roundness.
