Directions
1
In a mixing bowl, add rapid rise yeast, sugar, warm water, oil, salt, garlic powder (if desired), and dry Italian herbs.
2
Mix well and let the yeast bloom.
3
Once the yeast has bloomed, add plain flour and knead with a dough hook for 6-8 minutes, or more than 10 minutes by hand.
4
Coat the bowl and the dough with oil to prevent drying.
5
Let the dough rise until it doubles or triples in volume (about 30 minutes).
6
For the sauce, combine tomatoes, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, carrot, water, and salt in a pressure cooker.
7
Boil the vegetables until soft.
8
If desired, remove the skin of the tomatoes and bell pepper before blending.
9
Transfer the boiled vegetables to a blender and blend until nice and smooth.
10
Add paprika (very mild flavor) and sugar (optional) to the blended sauce and mix well.
11
Stir in finely chopped basil leaves.
12
Punch down the risen dough and knead it again on a floured surface.
13
Roll out the dough into desired pizza shapes (e.g., one large and one medium).
14
Optionally, cover the rolled out pizza dough and let it rise slightly again.
15
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
16
Spread the prepared sauce over the pizza dough.
17
Spread some cheese over the sauce.
18
Sprinkle with desired toppings like onion, colorful sweet peppers, jalapeno, tomato slices, and olives.
19
Add more cheese on top of the vegetables.
20
Lightly press the toppings into the dough to prevent separation from the crust.
21
Place the pizza into the preheated oven.
22
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the bottom of the pizza crust is golden brown.
23
Remove the pizza from the oven, slice, and serve.
