Slice the steak as thinly as possible across the grain.

Season the steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.

Sear the seasoned steak in a skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes per side until just about cooked through.

Remove the steak from the pan.

In the same pan, sauté sliced peppers and onions for about 3 to 5 minutes or until they are softened.

Return the steak to the pan.

Add half a block of cubed cream cheese and 4 to 6 slices of American cheese to the pan with the steak and vegetables.

Toast sub rolls under the broiler.

Load the cheesesteak mixture onto the toasted sub rolls.

Top the cheesesteak mixture with provolone slices.

Pop the sandwiches back under the broiler just until the provolone cheese on top is melty.

3 hoagie rolls
1 block of cream cheese
5 slices of American cheese
3 slices of provolone
1 bell pepper
1 white onion
salt

chili powder

Tips
To make the steak tender, cut across the grain.
For a quicker melt, cube the cream cheese.
Substitute thinly sliced chicken breast for steak if preferred.
