Directions

  1. 1Cut the flank steak into strips.
  2. 2Marinate the beef with soy sauce, egg white, baking soda, white pepper, and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch; refrigerate.
  3. 3Mix together water, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sriracha, hoisin sauce, ketchup, and brown sugar to make the sauce.
  4. 4Cut the white onion into two-inch pieces and the red bell pepper.
  5. 5Coat the marinated beef with a final dusting of cornstarch.
  6. 6Fry the beef in a wok with oil in batches.
  7. 7Saute minced garlic, onion, and bell pepper in the same wok.
  8. 8Add the beef back into the wok, pour in the sauce, and mix.
  9. 9Stir in vinegar and a slurry of 1 tablespoon of water and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
  10. 10Cover and cook.

  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 3 tbsp sriracha
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 small white onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp water
