Peel 2 medium potatoes.

Chop the peeled potatoes into large cubes.

Place the chopped potatoes in a pot.

Add water to the pot.

Add soy sauce to the pot.

Add minced garlic to the pot.

Add sugar to the pot.

Add sesame oil to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil.

Simmer for about 15 minutes.

Chop in a chili pepper about halfway through the simmering if you want to add a bit of spice.

When the sauce is nearly reduced, drizzle in some oligodang or corn syrup.

Mix everything together.

Turn the heat off.

Garnish with sesame seeds.

Serve with rice.
