High Protein Marinara Pasta

Directions

  1. 1Dice up an onion and peppers.
  2. 2Add olive oil to a skillet over medium-low heat.
  3. 3Add the diced onions and peppers to the skillet and sauté for 6-8 minutes, mixing frequently.
  4. 4Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasonings.
  5. 5Cook until they look caramelized.
  6. 6Push the cooked vegetables to the side of the skillet.
  7. 7Add ground beef to the skillet and break it up.
  8. 8Season the ground beef with the same seasonings.
  9. 9Once the beef is nicely browned, mix it together with the peppers and onions.
  10. 10Add marinara sauce to the skillet.
  11. 11Add fresh parsley and minced garlic.
  12. 12Mix all ingredients together, then move the skillet to the side and let it simmer.
  13. 13Fill a pot with water and add salt.
  14. 14Add protein pasta of choice to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions.
  15. 15Save some of the pasta water for later.
  16. 16Drain the cooked pasta.
  17. 17Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce.
  18. 18Mix the pasta and sauce together.
  19. 19Add some of the reserved pasta water to thin out the sauce to your liking.
  20. 20Plate the pasta.
  21. 21Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.

  • 20 oz jar Rao's marinara
  • 0.5 cup chopped parsley
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 8 oz bags Banza Pasta
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Italian blend seasonings
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Extra chopped parsley for garnish
