Fried Dill Pickle Dip

Directions

  1. 1Cut 1 pound of bacon into small pieces.
  2. 2Cook the bacon in a pan.
  3. 3Once the bacon is about halfway cooked, add Dan-O's Outlaw Spicy BBQ seasoning generously.
  4. 4Mix the bacon and seasoning.
  5. 5Add a little bit of bourbon to the pan and flambé it.
  6. 6Let the bacon continue to cook for a minute.
  7. 7Remove about three-fourths of the bacon and set it aside.
  8. 8Drain out about three-fourths of the grease from the pan; you can discard it.
  9. 9Add 1 cup of Panko breadcrumbs to the pan.
  10. 10Cook the breadcrumbs for about another minute until they are nice and toasty.
  11. 11Add another round of Dan-O's Outlaw Spicy BBQ seasoning to the breadcrumbs.
  12. 12Set the cooked breadcrumbs aside.
  13. 13Take one whole jar of Grillo's Pickles and set one pickle spear aside for garnish.
  14. 14Dice the pickles into chunky pieces.
  15. 15Chop a good amount of dill.
  16. 16Dice the reserved bacon into little pieces.
  17. 17Add the diced pickles, chopped dill, and diced bacon to a bowl.
  18. 18Add two softened blocks of cream cheese to the bowl.
  19. 19Add two 8-ounce containers (or one 16-ounce container) of sour cream to the bowl.
  20. 20Add about 2 ounces of pickle juice to the bowl.
  21. 21Add one more sprinkle of Dan-O's Outlaw Spicy BBQ seasoning to the dip ingredients.
  22. 22Mash all the ingredients together until well combined.
  23. 23Pour the pickle dip into a dish.
  24. 24Top the dip with the crunchy bacon and breadcrumb mixture.
  25. 25Place the reserved pickle spear on top of the dip and garnish with dill.
  26. 26Serve with wavy chips.

Tips

  • Don't try the flambé at home, kids.
  • Use Grillo's Pickles for a real pickle taste, found in the refrigerated section.
  • Cut pickles into chunky pieces, the chunkier the better.
  • Don't throw away the pickle juice, it will be used for the dip.
  • Serve with wavy chips.
