2
In a microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
3
Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in-between, until melted and smooth.
4
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into your bowl of popcorn, then gently mix to coat the popcorn evenly.
5
Add in the powdered sugar, then mix (or shake if you have a lid) to coat completely.
6
Transfer the Popcorn Puppy Chow onto a baking sheet, spread it into an even layer and let cool completely before storing or enjoying!
Ingredients
1 (3 oz) bag microwave popcorn
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
4 tbsp butter
1.5 cups powdered sugar
Equipment
mixing bowls
rubber spatula
baking sheet pan
silicone baking mat
Tips
Use the biggest bowl you can find for tossing the popcorn to ensure full coating.
Use a rubber spatula to avoid crushing the popcorn.
You'll need roughly 10 cups of popcorn. You can pop your own (about 1/2 cup kernels), use a microwave bag, or buy pre-popped popcorn.
Remove any unpopped kernels from the popcorn.
Microwave the chocolate, peanut butter, and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring in-between, to ensure even melting and smoothness.
Fully coat the popcorn in the chocolate mixture for the powdered sugar to stick. If you have a bowl with a lid, shaking can be easier than stirring.
Let the puppy chow cool completely before storing to prevent the powdered sugar from dissolving and the popcorn from losing its crispy texture.
Store Popcorn Puppy Chow in an airtight container on the counter for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
