Directions
1
Heat up the milk until it's cozy, then melt the butter and set it aside to cool off for a bit.
2
Activate the yeast by adding a quarter cup of warm water and a tablespoon of active dry yeast to a bowl.
3
Mix the yeast mixture up and let it sit for about 5 minutes to get active.
4
In a bowl, add one cup of warm whole milk, a quarter cup of melted butter, a quarter cup of sugar, and one large egg at room temperature.
5
Whisk the wet ingredients together.
6
Add in your foamy yeast mixture.
7
Slowly mix in 3 and a half to 4 cups of flour.
8
Just before all the flour is mixed in, add one teaspoon of salt.
9
Mix it up until the dough starts to pull away from the bowl and it all comes together.
10
Flour your work surface and turn the dough out.
11
Knead the dough for about 6 to 8 minutes until it's bouncy and elastic.
12
Get your bowl back, clean it out, add a little bit of grease, and put the dough in.
13
Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm spot for about an hour until it's doubled in size.
14
After an hour, punch the dough down.
15
Lightly flour your work surface again and turn the dough out.
16
Roll out the dough to about half an inch thick.
17
Cut your dough into equal squares (3x3).
18
Lay the pieces of dough squares on a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet, spaced out just a little bit.
19
Cover it and let it rest and rise again for about 45 minutes to an hour.
20
Bake the rolls at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12 to 15 minutes.
21
Brush melted butter on them the second they come out.
22
Serve with honey cinnamon butter.
