Directions

  1. 1Start by peeling, chopping, and boiling your potatoes until they're soft.
  2. 2Mash the boiled potatoes and keep them aside.
  3. 3In a pan, heat some oil.
  4. 4Soffen some onions in the pan.
  5. 5Add garlic and ginger paste to the onions.
  6. 6Add all the spices: whole cumin, ground cumin, ground coriander, chili powder, and salt.
  7. 7Fry the spices for a minute or two.
  8. 8Add green chilies and peas to the pan.
  9. 9After a couple of minutes, add the mashed potatoes.
  10. 10Add fresh coriander and a squeeze of lemon juice.
  11. 11Mix well until everything is combined, then take the filling off the heat.
  12. 12Get your ready-made puff pastry sheet.
  13. 13Add the filling and spread it all over the puff pastry sheet.
  14. 14Roll the pastry as tightly as you can.
  15. 15Pop the rolled pastry into the fridge for about half an hour to cool down, which makes it easier to slice.
  16. 16Once cooled, slice the roll into individual pinwheels.
  17. 17Brush the pinwheels with egg wash or milk if egg-free.
  18. 18Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Tips

  • You could use ready-made mashed potato to make this even easier.
  • You can freeze the sliced pinwheels for a later day, or bake right away.
