Add the sliced onion to the slow cooker.

Add about a pound and a half of stew meat on top of the onions.

Sprinkle one package of au jus gravy mix over the meat.

Sprinkle one package of Lipton French onion soup mix on top of the meat.

Pour one can of Campbell's condensed French onion soup (liquid soup) over the ingredients.

Add about a half a stick of butter (five or six tablespoons) on top.

Cook the mixture on low for six hours.

When the meat is almost done, sprinkle Gruyere and Swiss shredded cheese mixture over the top.

Cover and let the cheese melt.

Serve the French onion beef tips with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll.
Ingredients
1 large onion sliced
1.5 pounds stew meat or beef tips
1 package au jus gravy mix
1 package onion soup mix
1 can French onion soup
0.5 stick butter
Gruyere and Swiss shredded cheese

Tips
You can adjust the salt to your taste.
If you can find the Swiss or Gruyere cheese mix, use that one because that's like the most authentic it's going to give you that French onion taste.
