Directions

  1. 1Melt the chocolate over gently simmering water.
  2. 2Cream together the butter and sugars.
  3. 3Add the melted chocolate to the creamed butter and sugar mix.
  4. 4Mix the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa, bicarbonate of soda, and salt) together in a bowl.
  5. 5Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix.
  6. 6Add the egg.
  7. 7Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
  8. 8Scoop the cookie dough into mounds onto a baking tray.
  9. 9Bake the cookies for 18 minutes at 170 degrees.

Ingredients

  • 125 grams soft unsalted butter
  • 75 grams light brown sugar
  • 50 grams caster sugar
  • 150 grams plain flour
  • 30 grams cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cold egg
  • 2 packets chocolate chips
