Korean Fried Mushrooms

Directions

  1. 1Cut off the base of enoki mushrooms and cut them into planks.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup potato starch, a pinch of baking powder, a pinch of fine sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper.
  3. 3Add 1 cup of water and whisk until smooth.
  4. 4Dip mushroom planks into batter and fry until golden brown.
  5. 5In a saucepan, combine 2 tablespoons gochujang, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce.
  6. 6Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon minced garlic.
  7. 7Toss the fried mushrooms in the sauce.
  8. 8Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
