Sesame Chicken

Directions

  1. 1Slice your chicken into bite-sized cubes.
  2. 2Crack two eggs.
  3. 3Add in a fat pinch of salt.
  4. 4Add some cornstarch/cornflour.
  5. 5Get in there with your hands and give it a good mix until the chicken is well coated.
  6. 6For your sauce, add ketchup.
  7. 7Add equal parts soy sauce.
  8. 8Add a little bit of brown sugar.
  9. 9Add a fat drizzle of honey.
  10. 10Add a splash of rice vinegar.
  11. 11Add three cloves of garlic.
  12. 12Add a kiss of sesame oil.
  13. 13Add a few sesame seeds.
  14. 14Finish with some cornstarch/cornflour.
  15. 15Give that a quick mix.
  16. 16Fry your chicken until crispy and golden, using an air fryer for this one.
  17. 17Whilst your chicken is frying, make sure to get some dips in.
  18. 18Add some of your sauce to a pan.
  19. 19Then add your chicken to the sauce and mixy mixy until coated.
  20. 20Finish with some rice.
  21. 21Add a few more sesame seeds.
  22. 22Finish with spring onion.

  • 500 g chicken thighs, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 60 g cornflour
  • 1 large pinch salt
  • 60 ml ketchup
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 60 ml honey
  • 12 g brown sugar
  • 10 ml rice vinegar
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 ml sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornflour (to thicken)
  • 1 pinch sesame seeds
  • rice
  • spring onion

Tips

  • If you want to lighten it up a bit you can easily reduce the honey, use a bit less cornflour, or swap chicken thighs for chicken breast.
  • Adding a splash of soy sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice to the finished dish can make it hit even harder.
