Add masoor dal, ginger, garlic, and green chilies to a blender.

Blend until a thick paste is formed.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl.

Chop the onions.

Chop the coriander.

Add chopped onions, coriander, coriander powder, cumin powder, chili powder, and salt to the lentil mixture.

Mix well to combine all ingredients.

Heat oil in a pan and drop small portions of the mixture into the hot oil.

Fry until golden brown and crispy.

Remove from oil and place on a serving plate.

For the chutney, add chickpea flour and water to a clay pot and mix until combined.

In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, green chilies, and curry leaves.

Pour in the chickpea flour mixture.

Add turmeric powder, salt, and sugar.

Stir well until the mixture thickens.

Add water and continue stirring.

Cut a lemon in half and squeeze its juice into the chutney.

Serve the pakodi with the prepared chutney and a cup of tea.
