Directions

  1. 1Heat olive oil in a pan. Add onion, shallot, chili flakes, paprika, italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Sauté until soft.
  2. 2Add minced garlic and cook for one minute.
  3. 3Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned.
  4. 4Add tomato paste and cook for 3 minutes.
  5. 5Pour in beef broth and cream. Bring to a gentle boil.
  6. 6Reduce heat to low, add uncooked pasta shells, and stir well.
  7. 7Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce has thickened.
  8. 8Sprinkle in shredded cheese and stir until melted.
  9. 9Taste and adjust seasoning. Top with extra cheese and fresh chives.

  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup, room temperature heavy cream
  • 1 lb pasta shells
  • 5 oz aged cheddar cheese
  • 1 to garnish fresh chives
