Smothered Pork Chops in the Crockpot

Directions

  1. 1Season 4 (1 inch thick) bone-in pork chops with garlic powder, onion powder, creole seasoning and black pepper.
  2. 2Heat 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. 3Sear the chops until they have a nice crust.
  4. 4Set chops aside once browned.
  5. 5In the same pan, cook a chopped onion and chopped green pepper for 5 minutes.
  6. 6Add in 5-6 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.
  7. 7Place the chops in the bottom of the crockpot and put the chops on top of them.
  8. 8Mix a can of cream of mushroom with a can of cream of chicken with herbs and a packet of low sodium brown gravy mix.
  9. 9Spread that over the top of the pork chops.
  10. 10Cook on high for 5-6 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
  11. 11When done, take the pork chops out and give that gravy a good stir.
