Directions

Put 6 garlic, 2 chilies, and 7 peppers in a plastic bag.

Crush the ingredients in the plastic bag into a paste using a bottle.

Boil water in a kettle with 3 halved tomatoes and the crushed paste.

Once the tomatoes are soft, fish them out.

Mash the cooked tomatoes and add them back to the boiling mixture.

Stir in salt, chili powder, and rasam masala.

Grease a small bowl.

Add idli mix to the greased bowl.

Place the bowl with idli mix over the boiling rasam in the kettle.

Cover the kettle with a lid or plate and steam until the idli is spongy.

Serve idli submerged in rasam.

Top with podi and ghee.

Tips
Not authentic, just 100% better than the hostel mess.
