Directions

  1. 1Add 1/4 cup oil and 2 sliced onions to a pressure cooker, and fry until golden brown.
  2. 2Add a splash of water to extract the color from the onions, then add ginger garlic paste and sauté.
  3. 3Add mutton and fry until the color changes.
  4. 4Mix in the peeled and chopped tomatoes.
  5. 5Add 1.5 cups water and pressure cook for 7 minutes to partially cook the meat.
  6. 6Add haldi, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well.
  7. 7Add coriander powder and mix.
  8. 8Add yogurt and mix.
  9. 9Add soaked daal and 2 glasses of water, then pressure cook for 15 minutes.
  10. 10Transfer the mixture to a clay pot (mitti ki handi) and add water to adjust consistency.
  11. 11Once cooked, mix in whole spice powder, ginger, green chillies, and fresh coriander.
  12. 12Prepare tarka: Heat 1/4 cup oil in a pan, add sliced onion, and fry until golden brown.
  13. 13Add ginger, whole cumin, and whole red chillies to the tarka.
  14. 14Pour the hot tarka over the daal gosht.

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 whole onion, sliced
  • 1.5 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 kg mutton
  • 2 whole tomato, peeled and chopped
  • 1.5 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp haldi
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 cup daal, soaked for 2 hours
  • 2 glass water
  • warm water (optional)
  • 1 tsp whole spice powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger, julienne cut
  • green chilli (optional)
  • fresh coriander (optional)
  • 1 whole small onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp whole cumin
  • 5 whole whole red chillies
