Quick and Easy Refried Beans

Directions

  1. 1Once the manteca is fully melted and it's nice and hot, add the onion and garlic.
  2. 2Saute these two ingredients for about 1 to 2 minutes or until the onion is nice and fragrant.
  3. 3Add 4 cups of pinto beans with broth.
  4. 4Add as much broth or as little broth as you wish, depending on how soupy you want your beans to be.
  5. 5For seasonings, use half a teaspoon of black pepper, a fourth of a teaspoon of cumin, and one teaspoon of chicken bouillon or more depending on how much is needed.
  6. 6What's going to add that chorizo flavor to these beans is two tablespoons of chili powder.
  7. 7Mix all this together.
  8. 8Smash until it reaches your preferred consistency.
  9. 9Once they reach your desired consistency, simmer over low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it reaches your desired thickness.
