In a saucepan, add 1 cup of untoasted white sesame seeds.

Toast the sesame seeds for about 3 to 5 minutes on medium heat until they are lightly toasted and light in color.

Transfer the toasted sesame seeds into a food processor.

Blend for about a minute until it becomes a thick paste or powdery; scrape the bottom if needed.

Pour in about 3 to 4 tablespoons of neutral oil (vegetable, canola, or avocado oil).

Continue blending, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture is completely smooth.

Transfer the homemade tahini into a jar or container.

Tips
Do not brown the sesame seeds; they should remain light in color.
If the mixture is powdery after a minute of blending, scrape down the sides and continue mixing.
Start with 3 tablespoons of oil and add more if needed.
Mix until completely smooth.
Store the tahini in a jar or closed container
