Fra Diavolo Sauce Recipe

Directions

  1. 1Heat the oil in a large pan to medium heat.
  2. 2Add the onion and red pepper and cook them down for 5 minutes to soften.
  3. 3Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. 4Add the crushed tomatoes with their juices, red chili flakes, white wine, oregano, and salt and pepper to taste.
  5. 5Simmer for 10 minutes (or longer) to let the flavor develop.
  6. 6Stir in the parsley and basil leaves.
  7. 7Taste and adjust for salt.
  8. 8Serve with pasta or seafood, like Shrimp Fra Diavolo.

  • 0.5 cup dry white wine
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 6 fresh basil leaves, chopped

Tips
