Directions

  1. 1Dice and dehydrate 2 packs of phyllo dough 1–2 days before making the dessert.
  2. 2Zest 6–8 oranges.
  3. 3Cut the oranges into thick slices.
  4. 4Into a large pot, add 5 cups of water, 6 cups of sugar, half of the orange zest, and the orange slices.
  5. 5Add 4–5 cinnamon sticks.
  6. 6Stir and boil for about 20–30 minutes.
  7. 7In a large bowl, add 3 medium or large eggs and whisk.
  8. 8Add 1 1/2 cups of sunflower oil or olive oil.
  9. 9Add 1 cup of sugar and mix.
  10. 10Add vanilla of your choice and the rest of the orange zest.
  11. 11Add 1 1/2 cups of Greek yogurt.
  12. 12Add 1 tbsp of baking powder.
  13. 13Take about 1 1/2–2 cups of boiled orange slices and add them to a food processor.
  14. 14Puree and add it to the mixture.
  15. 15Whisk very well.
  16. 16Add the dehydrated phyllo dough to the mixture.
  17. 17Mix very well until the phyllo is fully soaked.
  18. 18Transfer into a 14-inch greased skillet.
  19. 19Bake at 380°F (180°C) for about 30–40 minutes, or until a knife comes out totally dry.
  20. 20Cut into pieces.
  21. 21Add syrup as needed and decorate with orange slices.
