Directions

  1. 1Peel and grate an onion.

  7. 7In the same pan, sauté the chopped vegetables, black pepper, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick until fragrant.
  8. 8Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, reserved onion juice, and water.
  9. 9Place the browned meatballs in the sauce and simmer until cooked.
  10. 10Blend cilantro, garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil for the schug sauce.
  11. 11Prepare the tahini sauce by mixing tahini, lemon juice, and water.
  12. 12Serve the meatballs over rice with the schug and tahini sauces.
