Directions

  1. 1Add one cup of warm water to an electric mixing bowl.
  2. 2Add two tablespoons of yeast.
  3. 3Add one tablespoon of sugar.
  4. 4Whisk well and let it sit on the counter for about three minutes.
  5. 5Add one egg.
  6. 6Add a quarter cup of oil.
  7. 7Add one teaspoon of salt.
  8. 8Add three cups of all-purpose flour.
  9. 9Mix in the electric mixer for about three minutes on medium speed (four to five).
  10. 10Cut the dough into 12 pieces for slider buns.
  11. 11Stretch each piece and turn them into small balls.
  12. 12Place the balls on a cookie tray with parchment paper.
  13. 13Cover the buns with a towel while the oven preheats to 400 degrees.
  14. 14Brush the buns with some egg wash (optional).
  15. 15Bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 9 minutes.
  16. 16Brush with a little bit of butter as soon as they come out of the oven.

Tips

  • You can use traditional dry active yeast or quick rise yeast.
  • The amount of yeast used will not make the rolls yeasty.
  • You can cut the dough into 6, 8, 10, or 12 buns depending on your desired size.
  • Brushing with egg wash is optional.
  • Brush with butter immediately after taking them out of the oven.
