Directions

  1. 1Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl and mix well.
  2. 2Pour in oil and incorporate into the dry mixture until it reaches a crumbly consistency.
  3. 3Gradually add warm water, kneading continuously, until a smooth dough forms that no longer sticks to the hands or the bowl.
  4. 4Knead the dough on a clean surface for 10 minutes.
  5. 5Lightly coat the dough with oil and place it in a bowl covered with a lid to rest.
  6. 6Divide the dough into individual balls of your desired size.
  7. 7Form the balls firmly and coat each one with a little oil.
  8. 8Place the dough balls in a plastic bag and let them rest for 15 minutes.
  9. 9Lightly dust a work surface and the rolling pin with flour, then flatten each ball and roll into a circular shape.
  10. 10Cook each tortilla on a hot griddle.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 kg wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
