Combine the egg and heavy cream in a measuring cup and whisk them together.

Add flour, baking powder, and sugar to a food processor.

Add butter to the food processor with the dry ingredients.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix.

Add dried cranberries to the dough and mix them in.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and pat it into a disc.

Cut the dough into wedges.

Place the scone wedges on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the scones with a little milk or cream.

Sprinkle sugar on top of each scone.

Bake the scones until golden brown.
