Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

Directions

  1. 1Add 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour to a large bowl.
  2. 2Add a teaspoon of baking soda to the bowl.
  3. 3Add a half teaspoon of salt to the bowl.
  4. 4Whisk all dry ingredients together in the bowl.
  5. 5Place one stick of room-temperature butter into the KitchenAid mixer bowl.
  6. 6Add 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar to the mixer bowl.
  7. 7Add half a cup of firmly packed light brown sugar to the mixer bowl.
  8. 8Mix the butter and sugars together using the KitchenAid mixer.
  9. 9Add one large egg to the mixture.
  10. 10Add one teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture.
  11. 11Mix the batter together on a low speed until incorporated.
  12. 12Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients while the mixer is on a low speed.
  13. 13Add 2 and 1/4 cups of chocolate chips to the dough.
  14. 14Add 2 and 1/4 cups of chocolate chunks to the dough.
  15. 15Mix the chocolate chips and chunks into the cookie dough with a spoon.
  16. 16Roll the cookie dough into balls and flatten them slightly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  17. 17Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 or 11 minutes.
  18. 18Remove the cookies from the oven when their edges are golden brown.
  19. 19Clean up the kitchen area while the cookies are baking.
