Caramelized Onion and Garlic Spaghetti

Directions

  1. 1Heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. 2Add in the thinly sliced onions and caramelize them for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and jammy.
  3. 3Boil a pot of salted water and cook the pasta until al dente, reserving some pasta water.
  4. 4Once the onions are deeply golden, stir in the minced garlic and all the seasonings (paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning).
  5. 5Let the mixture bloom for a minute, then add the chili crisp and sauté for another minute.
  6. 6Pour in the cream or coconut milk and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  7. 7Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce.
  8. 8Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
  9. 9Use the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed, aiming for a silky consistency.
