Sudanese Ta’mia

Directions

  1. 1Add chickpeas to the food processor.
  2. 2Add sliced onion to the food processor.
  3. 3Add fresh garlic to the food processor.
  4. 4Add green onion or dill to the food processor.
  5. 5Pour water into the food processor with the ingredients.
  6. 6Close the lid of the food processor.
  7. 7Start blending the ingredients in the food processor.
  8. 8Open the food processor and stir the mixture.
  9. 9Close the lid and blend again until the mixture is fine.
  10. 10Transfer the blended mixture to a mixing bowl.
  11. 11Add black pepper to the mixture.
  12. 12Add coriander to the mixture.
  13. 13Add garlic powder to the mixture.
  14. 14Add cumin to the mixture.
  15. 15Add shata (chili flakes) to the mixture.
  16. 16Add salt to the mixture.
  17. 17Add coriander seeds to the mixture.
  18. 18Add baking powder to the mixture.
  19. 19Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in the bowl.
  20. 20Form the mixture into small, flat patties using a falafel scoop.
  21. 21Carefully place the formed patties into hot oil for frying.
  22. 22Remove the fried ta'mia from the oil once golden brown and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  23. 23Serve the Sudanese ta'mia with a side of mango and pickles.
