Fish Tea

Directions

  1. 1Start with fresh fish, ideally old fish heads, as they provide the most flavor.
  2. 2Add garlic and pimento berries.
  3. 3Cook for 15 minutes.
  4. 4Add potato, carrots, and chocho (chayote).
  5. 5Add a bag of bangle to the broth.
  6. 6Add scallion, thyme, and Scotch bonnet pepper.
  7. 7Add the fish back to the pot, ensuring it is deboned.
  8. 8Add Grace fish flavored mix for maximum flavor, or use salt and pepper if not available. Save the noodles from the package if you want a lighter broth.
  9. 9Add some okra if desired.
  10. 10Taste and adjust with salt to your liking.
  11. 11Cover and cook for about 5 more minutes.
  12. 12Add a lime or lemon for extra flavor.
