Directions

  1. 1Peel the onions.
  2. 2Slice the peeled onions.
  3. 3Add oil to a pan.
  4. 4Add butter to the pan.
  5. 5Add the sliced onions to the pan.
  6. 6Add salt to the onions.
  7. 7Caramelize the onions until golden brown.
  8. 8Add water to the pan with the onions.
  9. 9Add pepper to the soup.
  10. 10Ladle the onion soup into a bowl.
  11. 11Slice the baguette.
  12. 12Place the baguette slices on top of the soup.
  13. 13Sprinkle shredded cheese over the baguette slices.
  14. 14Bake the soup in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  15. 15Serve the onion soup hot.
