Directions

  1. 1Flatten skirt steaks with a meat mallet.
  2. 2Marinate steaks in tikki tikki barbecue sauce.
  3. 3Heat up frying oil, add garlic, cinnamon, and star anise, then pour it over the dried chilies to make chili oil.
  4. 4Add sesame seeds and stir.
  5. 5Stuff the marinated steaks with cheese slices and sliced green onions.
  6. 6Roll the steak and slice into pinwheels.
  7. 7Grill the pinwheels until cooked through.
  8. 8Top with chili oil.

  • 2 skirt steaks
  • 1 cup tikki tikki barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup chili oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 star anise
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cup dried chilies
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 12 cheese slices
  • 1 handful green onions
