Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2Add two sticks of butter to a large bowl.
  3. 3Add brown sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla to the bowl.
  4. 4Mix the ingredients by hand or using a stand/electric mixer until creamed together.
  5. 5Crack one egg into the mixture and mix until fluffy.
  6. 6Add flour to the mixture.
  7. 7Mix until a dough forms, even if it looks dry at first.
  8. 8Separate the dough into two equal sections.
  9. 9Place the first dough section into an 8x8 baking dish lined with parchment paper and press it down to cover all sides.
  10. 10Make the brown sugar cinnamon mixture by combining brown sugar, melted butter, all-purpose flour, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  11. 11Place the brown sugar cinnamon mixture on top of the first dough layer in the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  12. 12Top with the other half of the dough, which should be pressed into an 8x8 square on parchment paper.
  13. 13Place the baking dish in the preheated oven to bake.
  14. 14Bake for 40 minutes.
  15. 15Allow the poptart to cool for 10-15 minutes.
  16. 16Ice the cooled poptart by spreading the icing mixture (powdered sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, milk) on top.
  17. 17Cut the poptart into squares.
