1Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
2Place 4 to 5 pounds of chicken pieces on the greased baking sheet.
3In a blender, combine 1 cup (8 ounces) of canned tomato sauce, ¼ cup of molasses, ¼ cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of hot sauce (like Frank's RedHot), 3-4 cloves of garlic, 2 teaspoons of cornstarch, 2½ teaspoons of Cajun seasoning, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
4Blend all the ingredients until smooth to create the barbecue sauce.
5Generously coat each piece of chicken with the barbecue sauce using a basting brush, being careful to avoid cross-contamination by using a separate bowl for basting or dividing the sauce.
6Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
7Halfway through cooking, flip the chicken pieces and baste the other side with the remaining barbecue sauce.
8After baking, place the chicken under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
9Remove the chicken from the oven and serve.

Tips
Spray the measuring cup with non-stick cooking spray before measuring sticky ingredients like molasses to make them come out easier.
To prevent cross-contamination, divide your barbecue sauce into smaller bowls for basting. This way, any sauce that touches raw chicken will be cooked, and you'll have uncontaminated sauce for later basting.
