Homemade Pizza Dough

Directions

  1. 1Dissolve yeast in water and add sugar.
  2. 2Wait a few minutes.
  3. 3Add oil, salt, and garlic.
  4. 4In an electric mixer, mix in 3 cups flour and mix for about 10 minutes on med-low speed until the dough leaves the side of the mixer bowl.
  5. 5Add remaining flour with a dough hook or by hand.
  6. 6Knead until smooth.
  7. 7Allow dough to rise in the bowl until doubled in size (for about one hour).
  8. 8Punch down the dough.
  9. 9Divide dough in half and roll each half out on a floured surface or parchment paper.
  10. 10Transfer each crust to a cookie sheet and let rise for about 20 minutes.
  11. 11Add desired toppings.
  12. 12Bake at 425°F for 20 min.

  • 2 Tbsp active dry yeast (2 envelopes)
  • 2 cups tepid water (90°F)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 0.5 cup oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 cups flour, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed

Tips

  • You can add herbs, spices, or garlic to create something your family will love.
  • You can make the dough weeks in advance and freeze it. If making in the morning for evening use, put it in the fridge and then bring to room temp to rise before rolling out.
  • Regular all-purpose flour can be used.
