Auntie Anne’s Pretzels

Directions

  1. 1Combine flour, yeast, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
  2. 2Add oil and warm water to the bowl.
  3. 3Stir the dough in the bowl.
  4. 4Turn the dough out onto a clean surface and knead in the remaining flour.
  5. 5Spray the bowl with oil.
  6. 6Put the dough in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise until it doubles in size.
  7. 7Turn the dough out onto a clean surface.
  8. 8Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  9. 9Cut pieces of dough with a pizza cutter.
  10. 10Roll each piece into a long rope and form the pretzel shape.
  11. 11Mix water and baking soda in a shallow dish.
  12. 12Dip the pretzels in the water and baking soda mixture.
  13. 13Place the pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  14. 14Brush with egg wash.
  15. 15Sprinkle with pretzel salt.
  16. 16Bake for 10 minutes.
  17. 17Brush the baked pretzels with melted butter.

Tips
