Directions

  1. 1Peel the red apples.
  2. 2Cut the apples into small cubes.
  3. 3Place the cubed apples in a pot.
  4. 4Add 1/2 cup of water to the pot with the apples.
  5. 5Simmer the apples for 15 minutes until they are soft and mushy.
  6. 6Blend the soft apples in the pot to create an applesauce-like consistency.
  7. 7Remove the applesauce from the heat and, while still hot, add four packets of gelatin.
  8. 8Mix the gelatin thoroughly into the applesauce.
  9. 9Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the mixture and mix until combined.
  10. 10Let the mixture sit until it reaches room temperature, about 15 minutes.
  11. 11Pour the cooled apple mixture into a stand mixer bowl.
  12. 12Whip the mixture for 20 minutes until it becomes light and fluffy.
  13. 13Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  14. 14Pour the whipped apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  15. 15Even out the surface of the mixture with a spatula.
  16. 16Cover the dish with cling wrap.
  17. 17Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, or overnight, to allow the marshmallow to set.
  18. 18Once set, remove the marshmallow from the dish and peel off the parchment paper.
