Directions
1
Marinate skirt steak (or flank steak) with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, olive oil, and the juice of one lime.
2
Slice an onion and add the slices to the marinating meat.
3
Add the washed lime to the meat.
4
Add some cilantro to the meat.
5
Cover the marinated meat with saran wrap and refrigerate for a few hours.
6
Heat oil in a skillet over high heat.
7
Cook the marinated steak in the hot skillet until desired doneness (medium preferred).
8
Chop the cooked steak into tiny pieces.
9
Wash, peel, and slice potatoes into fry shapes.
10
Place the potato slices into ice-cold water to remove starch and prevent browning.
11
Strain the potato slices.
12
Drop the potato slices into a pot of warm oil and cook for a few minutes until crispy.
13
Remove fries from oil, place them in a napkin-lined bowl, and add a little salt.
14
Dice one tomato, one jalapeno, some onion, and cilantro for pico de gallo.
15
Optionally, add lime juice, salt, and pepper to the pico de gallo.
16
Open avocados and place them into a molcajete.
17
Mash the avocados first before adding any other vegetables.
18
Add salt, pepper, and the pico de gallo to the mashed avocado to complete the guacamole.
19
Assemble the carne asada fries by adding fries to a plate.
20
Add cheese over the fries.
21
Top with carne asada, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream.
22
