Directions
1
Head over to your butcher or Whole Foods and ask for beef marrow bones.
2
Wash your bones.
3
Set the bones on a baking pan.
4
Bake the bones at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes to get that roasted bone marrow taste.
5
Place the bones into the slow cooker.
6
Add water to the top of the bones.
7
Set the crockpot to high for the first 3 hours until the water starts boiling.
8
Once boiling, change the setting back to low.
9
Let it cook for 24 to 48 hours.
10
Add some salt.
11
Add more water if your water gets low.
12
After 48 hours, remove all the bones from your broth.
13
Run your broth through a strainer.
14
Use a glass container propped up on mason jar covers for faster cooling.
15
Cover with parchment paper and let sit for 2 hours.
16
Put the broth in the fridge overnight.
17
Remove your tallow.
18
Freeze most of the broth in single-serving breast milk bags to minimize contaminants.
Ingredients

slow cooker

glass container
mason jar covers
parchment paper
breast milk storage bags

Tips
If you don't use enough bones, your broth will lack collagen and be watery instead of gelatinous.
Freezing broth in single-serving breast milk bags minimizes contaminants.
If using an Instant Pot, the cooking time will be 4-6 hours instead of 24-48 hours.
Always cook with love.
