Directions

  1. 1Mix the dry ingredients separately: flour, baking powder, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. 2In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients: brown sugar, eggs, honey, molasses, guava jam, vanilla extract, orange zest, and stout.
  3. 3Sift the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix gently to avoid overmixing.
  4. 4Gently fold in the soaked fruits (raisins, cherries).
  5. 5Pour the batter into greased loaf pans and decorate with cherries.
  6. 6Bake at 300°F for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. 7Make a glaze by combining honey, guava jam, cherry juice, and water in a saucepan. Reduce until thickened.
  8. 8Once the buns are slightly cooled, brush with the glaze.

  • 4 oz Red Label Wine
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp guava jam
  • 1 splash cherry juice
  • 1 splash water
