Soot Sprite 'Printed' Cookies
Directions
- 1Mix butter and sugar until smooth and easily spreadable. Add flour and mix until it comes together. Don’t overmix. Press into a ball.
- 2Reserve a small amount of dough for coloring. Roll out the plain dough.
- 3To make the piping paste, mix some leftover shortbread with black food dye and enough egg white or aquafaba to make it pipeable.
- 4Place black circles on the dough, add eyes and stars.
- 5Put the piping paste in a piping bag and pipe the eyes, legs and arms.
- 6Cut the cookies into desired shapes.
- 7Chill in fridge/freezer before baking.
- 8Bake for 12 mins at 160C/325F (fan).
- 9Cool on wire rack.

- 85 g caster or granulated sugar
- 280 g plain flour
- 1 gel food dyes
- 1 -2 tsp shortbread
- 1 black food dye
- 1 egg white or aquafaba
